Oregon Coast in Winter

One of the things Western Oregonians most love to do in winter is head for the ocean. Whether it's storming, the wind and rain driving in hard, or a day like this one where the sun is shining, the waves are their most spectacular in the winter.

Farm Boss caught this one of a rainbow in the mist of the breaking wave.

My wife and I hope things slow down enough at her work soon so we can get away on a stormy weekend to visit Devil's Churn when it's really churning.

The Oregon Coast sure is beautiful. We are going down there for a week or so in early May and I look forward to it. Pat has never been there so should be surprised by its beauty. It will be odd for me to not do it with an RV, though.

Beautiful! The only areas like it here are Big Sur and the Sonoma coast.

I would love to put the Salmon River photo on our website. Could you write a note (short or long) about this photo... or you visit?

You and Farm Boss could make a fortune selling your photos. Maybe that's a new venture for your artistic talent.

There is something so exciting about the sound of waves crashing on the shore.

You are welcome to use the photo under those conditions. The photo was taken from the gravel road not far from the parking lot (Knight Park) where you can put in a boat or follow the trail up on Cascade Head. The area is mostly protected now by Nature Conservancy

Wonderful photos. Looks like a lot more blue sky than I remember from my few trips to the Oregon coast.

This is one of the GREAT Bonuses of Blogging---besides the lovely Friendships that develop---One gets to see so many places that you have never seen and in my case, won't be able to travel to....And ALL Over The World, yet---from such a personal point of view, too!
