Beginning October 21, this blog, Rain Trueax's Rainy Day Thoughts, will have a co-author-- painter and long-time friend, Diane Widler Wenzel. We have been sharing, encouraging, and discussing life for over 50 years. We don't always agree... I think this will be fun trip for us both. New posts will be on Saturdays and otherwise randomly as something of interest happens.

Starting again

I was trying to decide if I was ready to start writing a blog again; then just began to write.

At the end of December, when I stopped the first blog, I thought if I did another, it'd be a partnership, but none of my friends wanted to do one with me or they already had their own; so maybe this is how it's going to be.

We had snow this week-end which for me was exciting given this has been the sum total for the year-- 2" and gone by afternoon. I made the most of it while it was here.

The farm is going well, my creative part of life is going fine-- at least as such ever does.

I have some areas of my life where things could be better but that's always going to be so. I am not disapleased with where I am for today.

There are a lot of things to write about and as before, I will mainly center on my life, philosophical thoughts, politics, nature, photography, and art.

Sounds like a good mixture to me to write about. Welcome back.

Beautiful photograph of the cow and calf - the adult looks very much like one of the naive 18th century paintings of "the prize cow" - deep chested and prosperity producing!

Look forward to reading more of your blog!

Rain, to say I'm glad you are back would be an understatement. I was mint green, by the way, and will probably put it on the blog tonight--along with a link to you. My Port Angeles son said it snowed there too--stayed on the ground a few days. Love the cow and calf picture--and you are so pretty and serene in your About photo.

Rain, Welcome back. I love the photo of the cow and calf. That is real snow. . . not the kind most of us Californians experienced this week. We get so excited to see a few flakes and our newscasters tend to make mountains out of molehils when it comes to bad weather out here.

Rain-- I am so glad you are back. The snow looks so great there. We had a bit up here on the peninsula as well. I'll be stopping in regularly to see how things are going for you in your part of the northwest. Welcome back.
