on the road

traveling... some good experiences... especially up at Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Lava Beds National Monument with lava caves, history, birding in sage and juniper country. Here are some random pics and when I get stable somewhere, I'll explain more about what they're about. Great stories in this country.

Currently in Beatty where we woke to thunder, gusty winds up to 40mph and rain. not sure when we will then be able to leave since we are pulling a vacation trailer-- no fun in wind. When it quiets down, guess we will head for Vegas and maybe beyond--depending on the weather.

Fascinating country. Hope you found a snug harbor out of the wind.

I'm with you on the trailer woes in the wind. We narrowly missed a tornado once pulling a camper and it was quite a thrill ride. We sold it soon after and now stay in a hotel! Have a great weekend!

Linda, when the kids were small, we pulled a small 15' trailer all over the West with some interesting experiences with wind. We take two black cats now and love this one for its convenience at night and with them. I like the popout and feel it gives the space when we are stopped for the night, like a little cabin. It though has a/c and a full bathroom ;).

Last night we were in Kingman, lots of thunder, lightning, and rain-- all after we were securely stopped for the night.

We got here and it definitely had its moments. When I get settled, I'll share more photos and info about the trip through America's back country
