Happy New Year

So what do you think? are there enough things to worry about in 2009? No? Okay, let's add a few to the list. How about--

Yellowstone Quake Swarm. This is one they give us every so often as Yellowstone is a super volcano which if it should erupt, would rearrange the climate of the world.

In terms of worrying, Most experts don't feel it's worthy of breaking out into a sweat given this happens regularly. The eruption, however, happens every 600,000 years. How long since the last?

Thinking about it possibly happening, however, might help to put current worries into perspective (incidentally, it would probably end any problem that whoever was left might have with global warming).
So, how about Igor Panarin, a Russian analyst, who has been predicting the United States will fall into civil war over our current economic crises leading to a break up of the country. He saw it dividing into four countries with China taking one, Europe taking another, Mexico getting a third (where will they go for jobs), and Canada taking what is left over. Would this come under the category of good news or bad? Russian wish list?

So if that didn't cheer you up yet, well--

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May 2009 be good to you and yours.

I like the map. If it happened like that I would move to Montana-- Canada has good health care. I have often thought if we could live together on the planet, realizing that we are all one people -- easily wiped out by a super volcano -- we might behave differently and so much better. So, I have found this post quite uplifting on the first morning of 2009. Thank you and happy new year to you!

LOL!!!! Sorry, Rain, I kind of doubt I'll add either of these to my worry list it's long enough. I think I'd make a pretty good Canadian.

Happy New Year to you and Farm Boss, my dear friend!!!!

I have read those stories too. I think the Russian professor is nuts. He has been predicting the breakup of the US for some time. We cannot even agree on how to split California into 2 states. There is no way that the country would split into so many parts. But the old Soviets had that plan for America if they ever won a war against us to split the nation into different parts and not allow travel or communication between them. This would make it easier to manage and control the population.

The Yellowstone story is kind of scary. That would really be a blow to the economy to have such a major disaster hit right now.

China & Russia taking over? NOT! As Yamamoto said: "I would never invade the United States...for there is a gun behind every blade of grass."
Semper Fi indeed.

I decided to try and table my worries, at least for today, but OK, now you've got me thinking. We are long overdue in California for the "big earthquake." Is my earthquake kit ready? Not completely.

When I told my son Tony today that I felt bad for Obama coming into such a mess of problems, he smiled. "No, it's a good thing, mom. They can't blame him for these things he has to deal with and we'll be grateful if he makes a difference."

I liked that thinking.

Happy new year.

Oh don't worry, everything that happens in the next 4 years will be George Bush's fault. That is why we will need another 4 years of Obama so he has time to fix all the problems that he inherited. That is exactly how the talking heads on TV will spell it out. There couldn't possibly be any blame on Pelosi, Reid, Dodd or Frank.

Odds are things will not be that much different than they have been under Bush, but because it is Obama he will get different treatment from the press and the people. Just watch and see on what happens with Gitmo and Iraq and everything else.

Let me get this straight, ingineer. Bush gets credit for freeing 50 million people (some of whom were free to die or flee their country but skip that part), gets credit for keeping this country safe (even though it was on his watch that 9/11 happened with ample warmings), and for giving the middle class a couple of dollars in a tax cut (while giving the rich the main cuts and leading to massive deficits when you add on a war he didn't pay for but borrowed; but we aren't suppposed to give him credit for infrastructure crumbling, selling off at bargain basement prices public lands for the mining and lumber interests, reducing air quality so smog returns, and the list goes on but that doesn't count? You still defend Bush? Amazing. totally amazing. and already it's all Obama's fault. I will never understand right wingers.

Oh and most of you got it, but for any who didn't, this blog was intended to be satiric not something really to worry about but just how it can be sometimes with taking on this or that. Should I spell that out next time? *s*

and torturing? Using a set of rules that are only followed by barbarians, he okayed that but let a few lower level types like Lyndi English take the fall for it while he said nothing about his okaying and even ordering what was done. You still defend that ___ __ ____! I can't find a polite word to use here but you know what I am thinking.

OK Rain some of my own satire in there. I was not defending Bush it was more a commentary on the media. Like how they are drooling over Obama's chiseled body and active work out regimen. But Bush's workout regimen was labeled as an "obsession" and treated with disdain. You might want to check out the story in the Washington Post on it.

Actually the media has already ridiculed Obama for working out so much. It was their obsession with it that he would do it before high pressure events. They simply do not get it. And the paparazzi aspect of how they are treating him is not helping him either. It's nuts. But that's the media and let's get it straight for the fact that they help nobody and are only about making money. They actually promoted Bush for a long time and liked his humor and working out. You are forgetting how it was. It's us who better not listen to the media about anything. Their values don't benefit us.

And I know you like to tweak *s*
